Carli B was raised to be perfect: the oldest daughter, the good girl, the wife with the house, the nursing license, and a marriage that looked impeccable from the outside. She was 41 when she learned she was allowed to ask for truth. She asked, and the life she had built to be loved came crashing down around her. On the floor of it, she remembered a little girl who used to sing in secret, and asked herself, for the first time, what she wanted. Five years later, she had her first EP, “No More Pretending.” Eight songs, and the voice she had hidden since childhood. The record moves from EDM and pop to stripped back ballads and cinematic, because no single genre could hold all of it.

Carli B. Webb was raised to be perfect. The oldest child and only daughter, she learned early that safety meant getting everything right: the good girl who never made a mistake, who bought the house because she was supposed to, who became a nurse because it was expected, who built a marriage that looked impeccable from the outside. Underneath it ran an older fear, taught young, that her own nature was a sin to be corrected. So she corrected it. For 22 years she performed a life designed to prove she was worth loving, and she called the performance her life.

She was 41 when, on a quiet walking meditation, she learned something no one had ever told her: that she was allowed to ask for truth. So she asked. Within days the answers came, in dreams, in signs, in a knowing she had no language for, and they all pointed at the thing she had refused to see for years. The castle she had spent two decades building came down. And on the floor of it, wailing, she asked herself a question she had never once asked in 41 years: what do I want?

The answer was a whisper she had buried since childhood. At six, she had loved to sing, and had only ever done it in secret. Now she chased it. A short, unlikely three weeks on the road with a circle of gifted, unconventional artists she met and collaborated with, and then five years of quiet, stubborn work to believe the voice was truly hers. The first time she heard her own voice come back to her on a recording, she thought she had died and gone to heaven. What poured out was not only music. It was a joy and a vibrancy she never knew she was permitted to feel. The result was her first EP, “No More Pretending,” eight songs written and recorded through grief, rage, tenderness, and joy, that mended exactly one broken heart. Her own.

Carli does not know another woman who has done exactly this: lost an entire family identity in her forties, gone looking for herself across the country, and taken five years to build an album honest enough to stand for the life she left behind. Today she sings and says precisely what she means. She performs and speaks, leads Reclaim Her embodiment circles, offers private frequency therapy that helps women settle their nervous systems and come home to their bodies, and is building an intimate women's retreat in Spain for 2027. She is also writing the book. Her message to every woman still performing a life she never chose is the one Carli had to learn on the floor: it can only come from you. And if she did it, so can you.
